Fferm Bryn Melyn Farm
Fferm Bryn Melyn Farm, Llandderfel, Bala, Gwynedd LL23 7RA Website Tel +44(07711)562165
Bryn Melyn is a fully restored and luxuriously refurbished for 2008, traditional, 200 year old stone built farm, occupying an elevated and tranquil position in the picturesque Upper Dee Valley. Designated an area of outstanding natural beauty,it lies some 5 miles east of Bala, adjoining the Snowdonia National Park, making it the perfect location to explore the grandeur of North Wales and possibly what is one of the most hauntingly beautiful areas in Europe.
The farm is peacefully situated in 12 acres of attractive wooded grounds incorporating picnic areas and pond, tennis court, outdoor play areas, an indoor playroom, a helipad, and surrounded by pastureland on which you can enjoy ¾ mile of private fishing on the River Dee.
Panoramic views abound and each stylishly converted barn has its own garden and accompanying glorious view over the valley. Garden furniture and barbecue provided.
of course.
The farmhouse itself lies within a beautiful landscaped garden including a stunning tiered lower garden with freshwater stream serving a series of pools and ponds with many seating areas overlooking the sloping lawns and heather beds.
Whilst you could spend your holiday just relaxing on the farm and taking advantage of its facilities, on its doorstep there are numerous activities for an action packed holiday, if that is part of your plan.
The Get Wet Centre is within half a mile of the farm and offers abseiling, climbing, high ropes, paintballing, clay pigeon shooting, guided 4 x 4 safaris and mountain biking.
On Bala Lake, you can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing and sailing whilst the National White Water Rafting Centre is at nearby Tryweryn..
There are, of course, glorious walks and cycling routes in the immediate area and for the more adventurous mountain biker ,there is Coed y Brenin Forest Park, renowned for its world class mountain bike trails. Bikes may be hired in Bala, or of course, you could bring your own and store them securely in the farm buildings. Power washer provided. For the golfers amongst you, there is a golf club in Bala, not to mention others a little further afield in Llangollen and Harlech.
Speaking of a little farther afield, we havent yet mentioned the wide ?ranging attractions of the rest of the Snowdonia National Park. How about climbing Snowdon, or if you prefer, it can be accessed by a narrow gauge railway. You could also visit Portmeirion, the Italian style village used in the TV series The Prisoner, the beaches around Portmadoc or the Blue Flag Beach at Barmouth, not to mention the Slate and Copper Mines and other activities too numerous to mention. There is really too much to do in one holiday, but then, were also quite sure that youll want to come back.
When you return home to the farm, you could either continue your activities with some table tennis, table football, pool or darts in the playroom or a game of football on the field. Or of course, you could just relax within its grounds, or, why not call upon our local holistic therapist who will come to the farm and help you relax through Aromatherapy, Swedish Massage, or Indian Head Massage.
