Caernarfon Castle
Castle Ditch, Caernarfon, Gwynedd



World Heritage Site. With its seven polygonal towers (including the great Eagle Tower), two gatehouses, and walls of colour-banded stone, King Edward I intended the castle to be a royal residence and seat of government for north Wales.

Facilities:
Three site exhibitions; Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers; The Eagle and the Dragon audio-visual display. There is a complete circuit of Town Walls, including eight towers and two twin towered gateways, surviving in places to battlement height.
